Peechinga – Chemmen Curry recipe

Ingredients for Peechinga – Chemmen Curry (Ridge Gourd – Prawns Curry):

  1. Prawns – ¼ kg
  2. Ginger chopped – 1 small spoon
    Green chillies – 2, sliced
    Salt and turmeric – As needed
  3. Ridge gourd cut into pieces after removing its edges – 1
  4. Coconut grated – ½
    Turmeric powder – A little
  5. Coconut oil – As required
  6. Mustard – ¼ small spoon
    Shallots – 2, sliced
    Curry leaves – 1 sprig

How to prepare Peechinga – Chemmen Curry (Ridge Gourd – Prawns Curry)?

  1. Make a fine paste of coconut and turmeric powder.
  2. Cook prawns, adding ingredients no: 2.
  3. When prawns are almost cooked, add cut ridge gourd pieces.
  4. When the contents are well-cooked, add coconut paste.
  5. Wait for the contents to thicken, and take from the flame.
  6. Heat coconut oil in a pan, sauté ingredients no: 6 and add to the curry.
