
Ingredients for Chemmeen Chukka:
- Prawns -1/2 kg
- Chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Salt – As required - Coconut oil – For frying
- Onions – ½ kg sliced
Tomato – big 3, sliced
Ginger – 1 piece crushed
Garlic – 1 piece crushed
Coriander leaves – 1 stem
Mint leaves – 2 stems
Curry leaves – 10 sprigs
Green chillies – 5, split into two - Red chilli powder – 2 big spoons
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
How to prepare Chemmeen Chukka?
- Clean prawns and remove the waste. Wash well.
- Marinate prawns with ingredients no: 2.
- Allow it to rest for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns. You need to half-cook only.
- Drain prawns from oil.
- In the remaining oil, sauté ingredients no: 4 till onions turn golden brown colour.
- Add ingredients no: 5 to it and mix well.
- Add half-cooked prawns to it, mix well and cook in a low flame with the lid closed.
Note: You can also add grated coconut to this prawn dish to make it tastier.
