Chemmeen – Maanga Curry

Ingredients for Prawns – Green Mango Curry (Chemmeen – Maanga Curry):

  1. Prawns – 250 gm
  2. Green chillies split into 2 – ½ cups
    Shallots – 5, chopped
    Curry leaves – 2 stalks
    Ginger – 1 small piece, chopped
    Red chilli powder – ½ small spoon
    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
    Salt – For taste
  3. Green mango (good sour taste) – 2, sliced lengthwise
  4. Thick Coconut milk – From 1 coconut
  5. Oil – 1 big spoon
  6. Mustard – ¼ small spoon
    Shallots – 2, chopped
    Curry leaves – 1 stalk

How to prepare Prawns – Green Mango Curry (Chemmeen – Maanga Curry)?

  1. Clean prawns and mix with ingredients no: 2.
  2. Cook in an earthen pot, adding sufficient water.
  3. When it’s done, add cut mango pieces and cook again.
  4. Add coconut milk, keep stirring and take the curry off the flame before it starts boiling.
  5. Heat oil and temper ingredients no: 6.
  6. Add it to your prawn curry and mix well.
