Spicy Fish Curry

Ingredients for Spicy Fish Curry:

1. Flesh fish – ½ kg

2. Pot tamarind – 2 big pieces

3. Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Chilli powder – 1 big spoon

    Kashmiri chilli powder – 1.5 big spoons

    Pepper powder – 1 small spoon

    Water – To make a paste

4. Coconut oil – 3 big spoons

    Mustard – 1 big spoon

    Fenugreek – 1 big spoon

5. Ginger – 1 small piece chopped

    Garlic – 8 cloves chopped

    Curry leaves – 1 or 2 stalks

6. Salt – To taste

How to prepare Spicy Fish Curry?

1. Clean the fish and keep it aside.

2. Soak two big pieces of pot tamarind in water for a while.

3. Mix all powders listed as 3 adding sufficient water to make a paste.

4. Heat 3 big spoons of oil in an earthen pot, and sauté mustard and fenugreek seeds in that order.

5. Then sauté ingredients no: 5 and add the prepared gravy.

6. Sauté it till the pungent smell disappears and then add pot tamarind along with its juice.

7. Add sufficient water and salt too.

8. Allow the curry to boil well and then add fish pieces.

9. Cook fish in medium flame.

10. When a thin layer of oil appears on the top of the curry, put the flame off.
