Ingredients for Gongura Chicken Curry:
- Chicken – ½ kg
- Gongura leaves – 2 handfuls
- Green chillies – 6 -8
- Onion big – 1
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Cardamom – 2
- Cloves – 4
- Cinnamon – 1 piece
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1.5 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Oil – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – For taste
- Curry leaves, and coriander leaves – A little
How to prepare Gongura Chicken Curry?
- Marinate chicken pieces by adding ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric powder.
- Allow it to rest for at least 30 minutes.
- At the same time, wash gongura leaves and cook them in a pan, adding half a cup of water.
- Leaves should be well-cooked and turn mushy.
- Allow it to cool once it is done, and make a fine paste using a mixer.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon.
- Add onions, green chillies and curry leaves and sauté well.
- When onions are fried well, add marinated chicken to them.
- Mix the contents well and cook for 15 minutes with the lid closed.
- Add gongura paste and coriander leaves, mix well and close the lid.
- Cook for 10 more minutes and turn off the flame.
