Gongura Chicken Curry

Ingredients for Gongura Chicken Curry:

1. Chicken – ½ kg

2. Gongura leaves – 2 handful

3. Green chillies – 6 -8

4. Onion big – 1

5. Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon

6. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

7. Cardamom – 2

8. Cloves – 4

9. Cinnamon – 1 piece

10. Chilli powder – 1 tsp

11. Coriander powder – 1.5 tsp

12. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

13. Oil – 1 table spoon

14. Salt – For taste

15. Curry leaves and coriander leaves – A little

How to prepare Gongura Chicken Curry?

1. Marinate chicken pieces adding ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric powder.

2. Allow it to rest for at least 30 minutes.

3. At the same time, wash gongura leaves and cook it in a pan adding half cup water.

4. Leaves should be well-cooked and turn mushy.

5. Allow it to cool once it is done, and make a fine paste using a mixer.

6. Heat oil in a pan and sauté cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon.

7. Add onions, green chillies and curry leaves and sauté well.

8. When onions are fried well, add marinated chicken to it.

9. Mix the contents well and cook for 15 minutes with lid closed.

10. Add gongura paste and coriander leaves, mix well and close the lid.

11. Cook for 10 more minutes and put off the flame.
