Nava Dhaanya Madhura Kanji recipe

Ingredients for Nava Dhaanya Madhura Kanji (Congee with 9 grains):

1. Green gram – 2 tablespoons

2. Fenugreek – 2 tablespoons

3. Horse gram – 1 tablespoon

4. Cowpeas – 1 tablespoon

5. Bengal gram – 1 tablespoon

6. Ragi – 1 tsp

7. Navara rice/Unakkalari – ½ cup

8. Wheat broken – 1 tablespoon

9. Sesame seeds – 1 tsp

10. Jaggery – As needed

11. Salt – ¼ tsp

12. Coconut milk (thick) – 1 cup

13. Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

14. Ghee – If needed

How to prepare Nava Dhaanya Madhura Kanji (Congee with 9 grains)?

1. Soak ingredients 1-6 in water overnight.

2. Along with ingredients 7-9, cook the soaked grains.

3. When it’s done, add jaggery, salt, cumin powder, and cook again.

4. Finally, add coconut milk and turn off the flame.

5. You can add ghee in warm kanji too.
