Kashmiri Pulao recipe

Ingredients for Kashmiri Pulao:

1. Basmati rice – 400 gm

2. Ghee – 100 gm

3. Onions – 100 gm sliced thin

    Cloves – 5

    Cardamom – 3

4. Salt – As required

5. Saffron – 1 pinch, mixed with 2 big spoons of milk

    Sugar – 3.5 big spoons

    Apple – 1, chopped fine

    Cherry – 5, chopped

    Cashew nuts – 25 gm

    Pista – 25 gm

6. Pomegranate – ½ cup

    Cashews fried – 25 gm

    Pista fried – 25 gm

How to prepare Kashmiri Pulao?

1. Wash rice and soak for a while. Then allow it to drain excess water.

2. Take water equal to double the measurement of rice and place it in a flame.

3. Heat ghee in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 3.

4. Add rice and fry it for a while.

5. When rice appears crystal-like, add the boiling water and cook the rice.

6. When rice is 3/4th cooked, add ingredients no: 5.

7. Cook the pulao with the lid closed. You can also bake it in the oven.

8. Later decorate it using ingredients no: 6.
