Kashmiri Rice recipe

Ingredients for Kashmiri Rice:

1. Basmati rice – 1 cup

2. Salt – For taste

    Lemon juice – From 1 lemon

3. Ghee – 2 big spoons

4. Broken cashew nuts and raisins – ¼ cup each

5. Saffron – ½ small spoon

    Milk – ¼ cup

How to prepare Kashmiri Rice?

1. Wash rice and add to boiling water.

2. Cook till it is 3/4th done.

3. Drain rice from water and add salt and lemon juice to it.

4. Mix rice and allow it to cool completely.

5. Place rice in the refrigerator so that it won’t turn sticky.

6. Just before you serve, take the rice from the refrigerator.

7. Add a big spoon of ghee and mix it well.

8. Heat the remaining 1 big spoon of ghee and fry cashews and raisins.

9. Mix saffron in milk and sprinkle it on a serving plate or bowl with low edges.

10. Sprinkle fried raisins and cashews on top and spread rice on top.

11. Press the rice well and flip it upside down onto another serving plate.

12. You can decorate your Kashmiri rice with fried onion slices and coriander leaves if you want.

13. Serve hot.
