Pancakes & Pan Rolls can be categorized under both snacks and sweets. They can be salty and spicy, and can also be made as sweets. A pancake is a flat cake, thin and round and mostly made on hot tawa by adding ghee, butter or oil. Thus Dosa can also be classified as a pancake, though I have placed a separate page for it. Pancakes are made using any kind of flour, sometimes vegetables like potatoes too, and can have toppings of your choice. They can also be taken as main course. Rising agents can also be used if needed, while in most Indian versions, not used except for dosa, and its variants. When pancake is rolled into a cylinder type, it becomes panroll and mostly it has some kind of filling inside – salt or sweet. You can make it sweet or spicy as you wish. In this page, I have added the recipe links of both Pancakes & Pan Rolls for convenience. You can click links to read corresponding recipes.
