Yam with Chilli Honey Sauce recipe

Ingredients for Yam with Chilli Honey Sauce:

1. Elephant yam – 180 gm

2. Maida – 3 big spoons

    Cornflour – 2 big spoons

    Salt – For taste

3. Oil – As needed

4. Garlic chopped fine – 2 big spoons

    Ginger chopped fine – 1 big spoon

    Onions chopped fine – 2 big spoons

    Green chillies chopped fine – 1 big spoon

5. Red chilli paste – 1 big spoon

   Honey – ½ big spoon

   Dark soya sauce – ¼ small spoon

    Light soya sauce – ½ small spoon

6. Capsicum sliced thin (similar to matchsticks) – 30 gm

7. Cornflour – 2 big spoons

8. Spring onion chopped fine – 30 gms

How to prepare Yam with Chilli Honey Sauce?

1. Chop yam into finger-sized/shaped pieces and half cook it.

2. Add ingredients no:2 to it, marinate and deep fry in hot oil. Yam should turn crispy.

3. Heat oil in a saucepan and sauté ingredients no: 4 on a medium flame.

4. Add ingredients no: 5 and mix well.

5. Add sufficient water (enough to grease the yam pieces) and prepare the sauce.

6. Add fried yam and capsicum and toss the contents.

7. Mix cornflour in a little water and add to the yam.

8. When it turns thick in consistency, turn off the flame.

9. Garnish with chopped spring onions.

10. You can also garnish the serving plate with spring onions.
