
Ingredients for Unakka Parava Kaay Curry:
1. False trevally dried (Unakka Parava) medium-sized – 3, cut into pieces
2. Green bananas – 2, medium-sized, chopped
3. Green chillies – 4, split into two
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Red chillies – 1 big spoon
Salt – As required
Curry leaves – 1 stalk
4. Coconut – ½, grated
Shallots – 4
Garlic – 3 cloves
Curry leaves – 5 nos:
5. Coconut oil – 3 big spoons
6. Mustard – ½ small spoon
Shallots – 4, chopped
Curry leaves – 1 stalk
Red chillies – 3
How to prepare Unakka Parava Kaay Curry?
1. Cook dried fish along with banana pieces in an earthen pot, adding sufficient water.
2. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4. Never add extra water.
3. Add this paste to cooked fish and heat well.
4. Take the curry off the flame.
5. Heat oil and sauté ingredients no: 6.
6. Add this mixture to the curry and turn the flame off.
