Karkidaka Kanji

Ingredients for Karkidaka Kanji:

1. Coconut – 2

2. Brown rice (Pachanellu Kuthiya Ari) – ½ kg

    Green gram – 50 gm

    Cumin seeds – 1 big spoon

    Fenugreek seeds – 1 big spoon

3. Aasaali – 1 big spoon

4. Kurunthotti – 3 stalks

    Tottaavaadi (Touch-me-not) – 2 stalks

    Paruthi Tholi (skin of cotton plant) – 1 piece

    Skin of coconut tree – 1 piece

    Kalasa skin – 1 piece

    Aattukootta paala – 3 stems

    Mukkutti – 1 handful

    Poovamkurunnu leaves – 1 handful

    Keezharnelli – 1 handful

    Nilampaala – 1 handful

    Karuka grass – 1 handful

5. Salt – As required

How to prepare Karkidaka Kanji?

1. Scrap coconut and extract 1st, 2nd and third milk.

2. Cook ingredients no: 2 by adding 3rd extract coconut milk.

3. When it’s done, add aasali and mix well.

4. Crush the medicines (listed as 5) and extract the juice.

5. When rice is cooked well, add second extract coconut milk.

6. When it boils well, add salt, medicine extract and mix well.

7. Pour 1st extract of coconut milk to your kanji and put the flame off.
