Cooker Sardine (Cooker Mathi)

Ingredients for Cooker Sardine (Cooker Mathi):

1. Sardine – 8

2. Pepper crushed – 1 small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Kashmiri chilli powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – As required

3. Coconut oil – 2 small spoons

4. Fenugreek seeds – 1 small spoon

5. Ginger chopped – 2 small spoons

    Garlic chopped – 2 small spoons

    Shallots crushed – 1 small spoon

    Curry leaves – 2 stalks

    Salt – As required

6. Tamarind – As required

How to prepare Cooker Sardine (Cooker Mathi)?

1. Marinate fish using a paste of ingredients no: 2.

2. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes.

3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and sauté fenugreek seeds.

4. Sauté ingredients no: 5 till it is done.

5. Spread marinated sardines on its top.

6. Prepare tamarind juice adding a little water and pour it on the top of sardine through a strainer.

7. Close the lid of the cooker and pressure cook for two whistles.

8. When pressure drops to zero, open the lid and serve sardine hot.
