Baked Fish Masala recipe

Ingredients for Baked Fish Masala:

1. Fish with thick flesh – ½ kg

2. Chilli powder – 2 small spoons

    Kashmiri chilli powder – 2 small spoons

    Fennel powder – 2 small spoons

    Turmeric powder – 1/2 small spoon

    Garam masala powder – 1 small spoon

    Garlic paste – 2 small spoons

    Ginger paste – 1 small spoon

    Salt – As required

3. Vinegar – 2 big spoons

4. Oil – For preparation

5. Onions – 2, sliced thin

6. Onions – 2, chopped fine

7. Tomato – 3, ground into a paste

    Salt – For taste

8. Potato – 2, sliced thin in round shapes and fried in oil

How to prepare Baked Fish Masala?

1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degree celsious.

2. Cut fish into small pieces.

3. Mix vinegar with ingredients no: 2 to prepare masala.

4. Take a little masala from it and marinate the fish pieces.

5. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes.

6. Deep fry fish in hot oil. But don’t overcook it.

7. Heat oil and add sliced onions.

8. Fry onions till they turn golden brown, and remove from the oil.

9. Remove excess oil and add chopped onions.

10. Sauté it well and add the remaining masala.

11. Keep sautéing till a thin layer of oil appears.

12. Add tomato paste and salt, and boil the contents till it thickens.

13. Crush fried onions using your hands and add to the curry.

14. Mix the contents and take off the flame.

15. Spread the tomato masala in an oven-proof dish.

16. Spread three or four fish pieces on its top.

17. Spread the remaining tomato masala and fried fish pieces as two or more layers.

18. Spread fried potatoes on top and bake in a pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes.

19. Take it out and serve hot with rice or any main course dish of your choice.
