Prawns Pulav (Chemmeen Pulav) recipe

Ingredients for Prawns Pulav (Chemmeen Pulav):

1. Biryani rice – 3.5 cups

2. Ghee – ½ cup

3. Cinnamon – 1 piece

    Cloves – 6

    Cardamom – 6

4. Salt – As required

5. Hot water – 7 cups

For Prawns Masala:

6. Oil – ½ cup

7. Onions – 4, chopped

    Tomatoes – 2, chopped

    Green chillies – 6, split into two

    Ginger – 1-inch piece chopped

    Garlic – 1 bulb, chopped

8. Prawns cleaned – ½ kg

    Salt – As required

9. Curd – ¼ cup

How to prepare Prawns Pulav (Chemmeen Pulav)?

1. Wash rice and drain off excess water.

2. Heat ghee and splutter ingredients no: 3.

3. Add rice and fry for 5 minutes.

4. Add salt and hot water and allow to boil.

5. Close the lid and cook on a low flame.

6. When rice is well-cooked, the water content should be fully absorbed.

7. Heat oil and sauté ingredients no: 7.

8. When the contents are well sauted, mix well by adding prawns and salt.

9. When prawns are half-cooked, add curd and cook for 2 minutes.

10. Then boil till the water content is fully evaporated.

11. Mix cooked rice with this prawn mixture and serve hot.
