Mridula Vijai – South Indian film and television actress of ‘Krishna Thulasi’ TV series fame

Mridula Vijai works in Malayalam & Tamil entertainment industry, and she earned recognition through Krishna Thulasi – Malayalam TV series aired on Mazhavil Manorama. Kalyana Saugandhikam and Manjurukum Kaalam are other popular TV shows, and she has also appeared in feature films – Jeniffer Karuppaiya’, Kadal Anbe Murikkum’ and Malayalam debut – ‘Celebration’.

Mridula Vijai hails from Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram. She started her acting career through Tamil films. Yet she earned recognition through Malayalam TV serials. She has also played lead in a few shows belonging to Tamil. As an actress she got an offer to appear in a short film (unreleased) at the age of 15 and the photos taken at that occasion gave her first break to Tamil movies. Thus she marked her screen debut in a lead role through ‘Jeniffer Karuppaiya’, following yet another lead role Malar in ‘Kadal Anbe Murikkum’.

After that she received first offer from Malayalam films through ‘Celebration’ followed by Infinity and Next Token Number. She grabbed her career best role of Krishna Thulasi, after two unsuccessful attempts. Her character Rohini in the serial Bharya was also well received. She is also associated with fashion industry as well as dancing field, along with her acting journey.

Mridula Vijai – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She is trained in classical dance forms, and she is also interested in pencil drawing.

2. She took formal training from Thara Kalyan’s Dwani dance School at Thiruvananthapuram.

3. She has made an appearance in a reality show of a TV channel and reached till semifinals.

4. She faced camera for the first time for a short film, which never got released.

5. Initially she didn’t want to accept TV soaps. But she did so solely because her mother is a lover of soaps.
