Gooseberry is widely used for preparing pickles and is known for its rich iron content. It also has a significant value in Ayurveda, and used for the preparation of many medicines. Health Benefits of Gooseberry

To gain body weight and beauty
– Mix green gooseberry juice with an equal amount of honey and serve daily regularly. It can improve your body weight, beauty, and health.
Good for diabetics
– Add a little turmeric powder to green gooseberry juice and serve twice daily. It controls diabetes.
Remedy for mouth ulcers
– Add black jeera powder to green gooseberry juice and serve. It’s good for wounds in the mouth.
For allergy
– Mix a little gooseberry powder with ghee and serve regularly to get rid of allergies.
Improves immunity
– Make a fine paste of gooseberry (remove skin) and sesame seeds. Serve a big spoon daily. It improves the body’s defense mechanism.
For intelligence
– Steam-cook gooseberries and serve four of them with melted jaggery daily. It improves health, gains body weight as well as brain power.
For sex drive
– If frigidity in females and low libido in men occur due to diabetes, serve nutmeg powder mixed with gooseberry regularly. It’s effective for both sexes if the condition is due to diabetes.
Remedy for premature hair graying
– Make a fine paste of gooseberry, henna, kayyonni (“False Daisy” or “Bhringraj”), aloe vera, and curry leaves, and apply on scalp and hair. Later, wash the hair. There is another remedy. Take 12 gooseberries and remove the seeds. Make a fine paste by adding rice starch and apply on hair and scalp. Wash your hair after half an hour. Do it on a regular basis to get better results. It’s also good to wash hair using boiled gooseberry water.

To keep hair graying at bay
– Eat gooseberries regularly. You can also boil water adding gooseberry and drink regularly. Same water can be used for hair wash/normal bath too.
For body strength and radiance
– Soak green gooseberries in water for 12 hours, remove the seed and cook, adding water. Add thrice the quantity of sugar candy (Kalkandam), and eat it daily on a regular basis.
For sore throat and Phlegm
– Take gooseberry, Kadukka (Haritaki), Thippali (Long Pepper), and Thannikka (Belleric Myrobalan) in equal quantities, make a fine powder, and serve it adding ghee.
For brown hair
– If you want black hair, crush gooseberries, add curd, and apply on hair. Wash your hair after half an hour.
