
Ingredients for Jackfruit with Coconut (Chakka Peera):
1. Grated coconut – 1 cup
Chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
Cumin seeds – ½ small spoon
2. Raw jackfruit cleaned and cut into lengthy pieces – 2 cups
Salt – For taste
Shallots chopped – 1 cup
Ginger chopped thin lengthwise – 1 big spoon
Garlic chopped thin lengthwise – 1 big spoon
Green chillies – 5, sliced lengthwise
Bilimbi (Irumban puli) chopped lengthwise – ½ cup
Coconut oil – 1.5 big spoons
How to prepare Jackfruit with Coconut (Chakka Peera)?
1. Mix together ingredients no: 1 and blend them in a mixer for Peera.
2. Manually crush ingredients no: 2 and squash them well.
3. Add these ingredients to the coconut peera and mix well.
4. Sprinkle a little water on this mixture.
5. Cook in a low flame with a closed lid.
Note: Never overcook it. If so, it will turn mushy.
