Green Gram Congee (Payattu Kanji)

Ingredients for Green Gram Congee (Payattu Kanji):

1. Green gram dal – 200 gm

2. Coconut milk – 2 cups

    Sugar – 5 big spoons

3. Cardamom powder – 1 small spoon

4. Ghee – 2 big spoons

5. Shallots – 3, chopped

How to prepare Green Gram Congee (Payattu Kanji)?

1. Cook green gram dal adding sufficient water.

2. Blend it well in a mixer adding coconut milk and sugar.

3. Transfer the contents to a thick bottomed pan and boil the contents.

4. Continue cooking till it turns thick.

5. Add cardamom powder and put off the flame.

6. Fry shallots in ghee and add to Green Gram Congee.

7. Mix the contents well and serve.
