Devaki Rajendran is an actress associated with Malayalam cinema. She is also known as a dancer and a choreographer who has been active in this field for many years. As a film actress, she is best known for playing a parallel lead in the 2023 satire-investigation thriller Purusha Pretham. The movie was directed by acclaimed director Krishand of Aavasavyuham fame. She played Inspector Sebastian’s sexual paramour, who later becomes his love interest in the film. She has also starred in movies like Malik (2021), Ottamuri Velicham (2017), Cheraathukal (2021) and Sleeplessly Yours (2017) in the recent past.

Devaki Rajendran was born in Thiruvananthapuram on May 7, 1992. Since the age of 4, she has been training in folk dance and Bharatanatyam. Later the family shifted to Mumbai for a while. She completed higher secondary studies after returning to her hometown. She started her theatre journey during her college days in Maharaja’s Women’s College, Thiruvananthapuram.
Samasyaapuranam directed by Rajeev Gopalakrishnan was her debut play. It was followed by Kimartham Draupathi, Swarna Simhasanam etc. She also appeared in a few musical videos.
2009 Viji Thampi film, Chemistry marked her screen debut
She marked her screen debut with 2009 Viji Thampi film, Chemistry, where she played the character Juna Mary. She first came into limelight after she appeared in Fahadh Fasil starrer Malik. Her role as David’s wife and Freddie’s mother was well received. In 2023, she got a meaty role in Purusha Pretham. She was paired with Prasanth Alexander in this thriller.
Devaki Rajendran has also done a few short films and web series. She played lead roles in short films, Imbam (2018), Dream (2019), Pupa – A Reverie of Rebirth (2020), Bindi (2021), Ninnile (2022), Obira (2020) and Malayalam thriller web series, Shepherds from Hell. Devaki is also a theatre artist. A trained classical dancer, she trains dance pieces for the stage as well as for music videos. She also teaches Bharatnatyam to students.

Devaki has been practising Bharatnatyam for more than 12 years and started teaching students around the post-corona period. A recipient of the Scholarship for Young Artists by the Ministry of Culture, she is a Doordarshan Grade B artist who is pursuing her Master’s in Bharatanatyam in SASTRA University. Apart from Bharatnatyam, she is trained in Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam as well.
She holds a Master’s in Music from Maharaja’s Women’s College, University of Kerala and a Master of Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA), Thanjavur.
