Chemmeen Bonda (Prawn Bonda)

Ingredients for Chemmeen Bonda (Prawn Bonda):

1. Cleaned prawns – 200 gm

2. Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

    Garlic paste – ¼ small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

    Fennel powder – ¼ small spoon

    Garam masala powder – 2 small spoons

    Salt – For taste

3. Oil – As required

4. Onions – 2, chopped fine

    Green chillies – 4, chopped fine

    Ginger – 1-inch piece, chopped fine

    Curry leaves and coriander leaves – A little each, chopped fine

5. Potato – 2, cooked and smashed

6. Gram flour – ¾ cup

    Corn flour – ¼ cup

    Salt – For taste

7. Water – As required

How to prepare Chemmeen Bonda (Prawn Bonda)?

1. Marinate prawns using ingredients no: 2.

2. Heat oil and sauté ingredients no: 4.

3. Add marinated prawns to it and sauté again.

4. Cook prawns till it is done.

5. Add smashed potatoes, sauté it well till contents are mixed and water content is fully absorbed.

6. Take off from flame and allow to cool.

7. When it’s almost cooled, make small balls.

8. Prepare batter using ingredients no: 6 and sufficient water.

9. Dip each ball in this batter and deep fry in hot oil.
