Aam Panna is an Indian and Pakistani drink made from unripe/green mangoes. Usually light green and yellow in colour, this summer drink is prepared by adding cumin seeds, green chillies, ginger and mint, which enhances the green colour too. This drink is also used for medicinal purposes.

Aam Panna recipe

Ingredients for Aam Panna:

  1. Raw mango – 4
  2. Sugar – ½ to 1 cup
    Rock salt – 1 tsp
    Salt – ½ tsp
    Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp
    Ginger – ¼ inch piece
    Green chilli – 1
  3. Water – 3 cups
  4. Mint leaves – To garnish

How to prepare Aam Panna?

  1. Peel the raw mangoes, cut them into small pieces and cook with a little water until soft.
  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  3. Add ingredients no: 2 and blend until smooth. Strain the mixture. (If needed, this mixture can be refrigerated for 2 to 3 weeks.)
  4. Add water and mix well. Garnish with mint leaves and serve.
