Chemmeen-Kasuvandi Ularth (Prawns-Cashews Dry Fry)

Ingredients for Chemmeen-Kasuvandi Ularth (Prawns-Cashews Dry Fry):

1. Prawns medium sized – 1 kg

2. Salt and turmeric powder – As needed

    Pot tamarind – 5 pieces

    Curry leaves – 4 stalks

3. Garlic chopped – 4 small spoons

    Ginger chopped – 4 small spoons

    Green chillies – 4

    Shallots – 150 gm

4. Cashews -100 gm

5. Oil – 50 gm

6. Coconut pieces, sliced thin – 100 gm

7. Chilli powder – 3 small spoons

    Coriander powder – 3 small spoons

    Pepper powder – 1 small spoon

8. Salt – As needed

How to prepare Chemmeen-Kasuvandi Ularth (Prawns-Cashews Dry Fry)?

1. Clean prawns and marinate with ingredients no: 2 and oil.

2. Mix together ingredients no: 3 and crush it together.

3. Soak cashews in lukewarm salt water for 20 minutes.

4. Heat oil and sauté crushed ingredients and coconut pieces.

5. When colour of shallots changes, add ingredients no: 7, soaked cashew nuts and marinate prawns.

6. Sauté the ingredients for a while adding sufficient salt.

7. Use low frame and dry fry the ingredients.

8. Decorate the dish with fried curry leaves.
