Preparation of Coin Paratha is similar to normal Kerala Parotta. The only difference is that balls made from dough are slightly smaller, and hence, Parathas too are small compared to normal parathas. That’s why they are known by the name Coin Paratta. Click here to read the recipe for Paratta.
Coin Paratha + Masala Fried Chicken Recipe

Ingredients for Coin Paratha:
1. Wheat powder – 3 cups
Salt – For taste
Sugar – 1 big spoon
Milk – 100 milli
2. Oil – As needed
How to prepare Coin Paratha?
1. Mix together ingredients no: 1.
2. If needed, add extra water and knead the dough similar to chapati.
3. Allow it to rest for two hours.
4. Make small balls from the dough.
5. Spread a little oil on top and allow them to rest for a little more time.
6. Spread each ball very thin, and spread oil on both sides.
7. From one side, fold in a zigzag manner to form layers.
8. Then make round shapes out of them (Similar to Kerala Parotta).
9. Now spread each one like a chappatti. They should be small compared to normal parattas.
10. Heat the tawa and spread a little oil.
11. Now cook each paratha. Flip both sides to cook well.
12. Take 4 or 5 parattas together and beat from either side to form layers.
13. Serve hot.
Ingredients for Masala Fried Chicken:
1. Chicken – 200 gm
2. Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Chilli powder – ½ small spoon
Rice powder – 2 small spoons
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 small spoon
Salt – For taste
Lemon juice – From one lemon
Kasuri meti – ½ small spoon
Maida – ½ small spoon
3. Oil – For frying
4. Butter – 2 small spoons
5. Ginger – ½ inch pieces, cut into matchstick shape
Garlic chopped fine – 1 small spoon
Green chillies – 2, end split
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
6. Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Chilli powder – ½ small spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Rice powder – 1/2 a small spoon
Salt – For taste
7. Curd – ½ cup
Lemon juice – From half a lemon
How to prepare Masala Fried Chicken?
1. Cut the chicken into pieces.
2. Mix together ingredients no: 2 and make a fine paste.
3. Marinate chicken with this paste and allow chicken to rest for 45 minutes.
4. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry chicken pieces.
5. Spread them on kitchen paper to drain excess oil.
6. Heat butter in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 5.
7. When it turns light brown, add ingredients no: 6 and sauté for 1 minute.
8. Add curd and lemon juice and mix well.
9. Add fried chicken to it and cook till gravy forms a coat on the chicken.
10. Take the flame off. Serve with cooked parattas.
