
Ingredients for Rava Appalam:
- Rava without granules – 3 cups
- Dalda (Vanaspati) – ½ kg
- Sugar – 800 gm
- Coconut oil or Dalda – as needed
- Salt – a pinch
How to prepare Rava Appalam?
- Add sufficient salt to the rava and sprinkle water. Then mix it well and keep aside for ½ hour.
- Place this mixture in a traditional stone grinder; crush it well, adding enough coconut oil.
- Then make small gooseberry-sized balls.
- Add sugar to a flat pan and boil it well. Remove its impurities and keep it aside hot.
- Make small papads (like we make chappati) from rava balls.
- Heat dalda in a frying pan and fry each pappad, flipping both sides.
- Put papads one after one in the hot sugar solution for a while, and then spread them on a plate. Allow it to cool.
