Street Food Style Crab Curry

Ingredients for Street Food Style Crab Curry (Shaap Style Njandu Curry):

  1. Kashmiri chilli powder – 2 small spoons
    Coriander powder – 1 small spoon
    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
    Garam masala powder – ½ small spoon
  2. Shallots – 100 gm
    Ginger – 1 piece
    Garlic – 1 cluster, full
  3. Crab – ½ kg
  4. Coconut oil – 50 milli
  5. Curry leaves – 1 stem
    Green chillies – 2, chopped
  6. Salt – For taste
  7. Pepper powder – ½ small spoon

How to prepare Street Food Style Crab Curry (Shaap Style Njandu Curry)?

  1. Gently heat ingredients no: 2, and make a fine paste along with ingredients no: 2.
  2. Clean the crab and cut it into pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add green chillies and curry leaves.
  4. Sauté the gravy till the raw smell goes out.
  5. Add crab, salt and a little water and cook in a low flame.
  6. When it is almost done, add pepper powder.
  7. Continue cooking till the water content is fully absorbed, and the gravy fully wraps crab pieces.
  8. Serve hot with rice.
