Spinach – Egg Thoran (Cheera – Mutta Thoran)

Ingredients for Spinach – Egg Thoran (Cheera – Mutta Thoran):

1. Cumin – A pinch

    Shallots – 1

    Garlic – 2 cloves

    Chilli powder – ¼ small spoon

2. Coconut scrapped – ½ cup

3. Red spinach chopped – 3 cups

    Salt – For taste

    Green chilli – 1, chopped round

4. Egg – 1

5. Oil – 2 big spoons

6. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Rice – 2 small spoons

7. Shallots chopped – 1 big spoon

    Red chilli – 1, cut into two

    Curry leaves – 2 stems

How to prepare Spinach – Egg Thoran (Cheera – Mutta Thoran)?

1. Grind ingredients no: 1, and then blend coconut along with it to prepare a course mixture.

2. Add green chilli and salt to spinach, sprinkle a little water and cook it with lid closed.

3. When steam comes out, make a pit in the middle portion of spinach.

4. Put the coconut gravy in it, wrap it with spinach and close the lid.

5. Cook it till steam comes out.

6. Add egg to it, scramble it along with spinach and prepare thoran.

7. When water content is fully absorbed, put off the flame.

8. Heat oil, sputter mustard and fry rice.

9. Add ingredients no: 7 also and temper your spinach-egg thoran using this oil.
