Rava Idli (Recipe 1)
Ingredients for Rava Idli:
- Rava – 2.5 cups
- Curd – 1 cup
- Salt – as needed
- Green chillies – 4
- Curry leaves – as required
- Bengal gram (Kadala parippu) – 1.5 spoons
- Coconut oil – 2 small spoons
- Ginger – 1 piece
How to prepare Rava idli?
- Add a little water and salt to the curd and soak the rava in it for 4 hours.
- Finely chop ginger, green chillies and curry leaves and add to the batter.
- Sputter mustard seeds and Bengal gram in oil and add to the batter.
- Now mix the flour well and make rava idlis.
- You can decorate your rava idlis using cashew pieces and grated carrot.
Rava Idli (Recipe 2)
Ingredients for Rava Idli (Recipe 2):
- Roasted semolina (rava) – 1 cup
- Oil – As required
- Mustard – 1 small spoon
Black gram (Urud) dal – 1 small spoon - Onion chopped fine – 1
Ginger chopped fine – ¼ inch piece
Green chillies chopped fine – 1 - Sour curd – 1.5 cups
- Coriander leaves chopped fine – 1 big spoon
Soda powder – A pinch
Salt – For taste
How to prepare Rava Idli (Recipe 2)?
- Heat oil and sputter mustard and urad dal.
- Add ingredients no: 4 to it, sauté it, and turn off the flame.
- Allow this mixture to cool off completely.
- Beat the curd and add it to this mixture.
- Add ingredients no: 6 followed by semolina, and prepare the batter for rava idlis.
- Allow the batter to rest for half an hour.
- Steam cook your idlis in an idli maker.
- Serve with any chutney of your choice.

Rava Idli (Recipe 3)

Ingredients for Rava Idli (Recipe 3):
- Oil 2 big spoons
- Mustard – 1 small spoon
- Onions chopped fine – ¼ cup
Ginger chopped fine – 1 small spoon
Green chillies chopped fine – 4
Curry leaves chopped fine – 1 stem
Salt – For taste - Semolina (rava) – 1 cup
- Curd – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup - Baking soda – ¼ of a small spoon
How to prepare Rava Idli (Recipe 3)?
- Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard seeds.
- Sauté ingredients no: 3.
- When onions turn brown, add semolina, mix well, and take them off the flame.
- Allow it to cool completely.
- Add curd and water, and allow it to rest for half an hour.
- Add baking soda, and if needed, excess water too.
- Pour the batter into the moulds of an idli maker.
- Steam cook them to get delicious rava idlis.
