Moringa Leaves Erisseri recipe

Ingredients for Moringa Leaves Erisseri (Muringayila Erisseri):

1. Raw banana – 1, cut into square pieces

    Yams cut into square pieces – 1 cup

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

    Chilli powder – ¼ small spoon

    Pepper powder – ½ small spoon

     Water – 1.5 cups

2. Moringa leaves – 1 cup

    Salt – For taste

3. Cumin seeds crushed – ¾ small spoon

    Garlic – 3, crushed

    Green chillies – 2, crushed

4. Green gram dal (Cheru Paripp) cooked – ½ cup

5. Thick coconut milk – ½ cup

6. Coconut oil – ½ big spoon

7. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Red chillies – 4, broken into pieces

    Curry leaves – 2 stems

How to prepare Moringa Leaves Erisseri (Muringayila Erisseri)?

1. Mix together ingredients no: 1 and cook well.

2. When pieces are half-cooked, add moringa leaves and salt.

3. Mix the ingredients, close the lid, and cook for a few more minutes.

4. When it is 3/4th done, add ingredients no: 3, close the lid, and cook again.

5. Add cooked dal, and using a ladle, smash the contents.

6. Add half a cup of coconut milk and mix well.

7. When the curry starts to boil, turn off the flame.

8. Heat oil and fry ingredients no: 7.

9. Add oil and tempered ingredients to the curry and mix well.
