Masala Kadala

Ingredients for Masala Kadala:

1. Kabuli Chana – ½ kilo

2. Salt – As required

3. Oil – 3 big spoons

4. Cumin seeds – 1 small spoon

    Ajwin – 1 small spoon

    Bay leaf (Vayana Ila) – 2

    Cardamom – 2

    Onions – 100 gms finely chopped

5. Ginger-garlic paste – 2.5 big spoons

    Coriander powder – 1.5 small spoon

    Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Garam masala powder -1/2 small spoon

6. Tomatoes – 200 gm, finely chopped

7. Chana masala – 2 small spoons

8. Crushed pepper – 1 small spoon

    Kasuri methi – ½ small spoon

    Dry ginger powder – ½ small spoon

9. Green chillies – 3, end split

    Lemon juice – ¼ small spoon

    Coriander chopped – 2 small spoons

How to prepare Masala Kadala?

1. Soak Kabuli chana in water for 6 hours.

2. Later cook chana adding sufficient salt.

3. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 4 till they turn golden brown.

4. Add ingredients no: 5 and sauté again.

5. Add tomatoes and salt and sauté again.

6. Add chana masala and cooked Kabuli chana to it and boil well in low flame.

7. When a layer of oil forms on its surface, add ingredients no: 8.

8. Continue stirring for a few more minutes.

9. Add green chillies, coriander leaves and lemon juice to it and put the flame off.
