
Ingredients for Masala Chicken:
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Oil – 5 tablespoons
- Onion chopped – 3 cups
- Curry leaves – ½ cup
- Tomato chopped – 2 cups
- Coriander leaves chopped – 1 cup
- Garlic chopped – 1 tablespoon
- Ginger – 1 piece, chopped
- Couscous – 1.5 tablespoons
- Mustard – ¾ spoon
- Cumin seeds – 1 spoon
- Pepper – 1 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1 spoon
- Coriander powder – 3 tablespoons
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Water – ¾ cup
- Coconut grated – ½ cup
How to prepare Masala Chicken?
- Make a fine paste of garlic, ginger, mustard, cumin seeds and pepper seeds.
- Add a little water to chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and prepare a paste.
- Grind coconut and couscous to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a cooker and fry onions till they turn golden brown.
- Add curry leaves, salt, ginger-garlic paste and sauté for three minutes.
- Add curry powder paste and chicken and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and sauté for 5 more minutes.
- Add ½ cup of water and mix the contents well.
- Pressure cook the contents.
- When the pressure drops to zero, add coconut paste and sauté for 5 more minutes.
- Finally, add coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
