Mango Preserve – Used for making ice cream, pudding, drinks etc

mango pulp - Mango Preserve

Ingredients for Mango Preserve:

  1. Soft mango – 1 kilogram
  2. Sugar – 1 kilogram
    Water – 1 cup
  3. Cinnamon – 2 pieces

How to prepare Mango Preserve?

  1. Cut the soft mango into long pieces after peeling off the skin. 
  2. Mix sugar and water in a thick-bottomed vessel, place it on the stove, and melt it. 
  3. When it reaches a one-string consistency, add the cut mango and cinnamon pieces, and cook well. 
  4. Keep removing the scum of the mango syrup that forms on top. 
  5. When the mango is cooked well, remove it from the stove and store it in a jar once it cools down.

Note: When mangoes are available in plenty (seasonal), prepare Mango Preserve and stored for later use. It can be used while making ice cream, pudding, and also as a topping and for different desserts, smoothies, and juices. Do not use fully ripe mangoes, as they will get mashed and spoil the texture.
