Karikkappam (Tender Coconut Appam)

Ingredients for Karikkappam (Tender Coconut Appam):

1. Kashmiri Raw Rice – 2 cups

2. Cooked rice – 1 cup

    Tender coconut – 1.25 cups

    Instant yeast – ½ small spoon

    Sugar – 3 big spoons

    Salt – For taste

3. Tender coconut water – As needed

How to prepare Karikkappam (Tender Coconut Appam)?

1. Wash rice and soak it in water for 3 hours.

2. Make a fine paste of rice along with ingredients no: 2.

3. Add sufficient tender coconut water and prepare the batter.

4. Allow the batter to ferment for next three hours. It will rise up.

5. Heat an appam pot and grease it.

6. Add approximately one big spoon of batter to it and close the lid.

7. Never rotate the pan similar to normal appam.

8. Allow your appam to cook in steam.

9. You can serve it with any curry of your choice.
