Mutton Rasam

Ingredients for Mutton Rasam:

1. Mutton with bone – ½ kg

2. Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

3. Cinnamon, cloves and cardamom -2 each

4. Water – 2 cups

5. Oil – 3 big spoons

6. Ginger-garlic paste – 1 small spoon

7. Tomato – 2 big

8. Cumin powder – ½ small spoon

    Pepper powder – ½ small spoon

    Garam masala powder – 1 small spoon

9. Tamarind – Gooseberry sized

10. Salt, curry leaves and coriander leaves – Needed for preparation

How to prepare Mutton Rasam?

1. Clean mutton and add turmeric powder, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and 2 cups of water and cook well.

2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ginger-garlic paste.

3. When the odour changes, add chopped tomatoes and sauté till oil clears.

4. Add ingredients no: 8 and mix well.

5. Add tamarind juice and boil the contents.

6. Add cooked mutton pieces.

7. Add sufficient salt also, and when it boils, add curry leaves and coriander leaves.

8. Switch off the flame and serve hot.
