Indira Kadambi is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher. Apart from different cities in India, she has performed abroad in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Switzerland, Malaysia, and many other countries. She is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India. She also gives online classes through the platform, eAmbalam.

Indira was born in the Udupi district of the southern state of Karnataka in 1969. She began her formal lessons in Bharatanatyam at the age of six under Sri Janardhan Sharma. She later continued training under Usha Datar, followed by Narmada and Savitri Jagannath Rao.

She studied abhinaya under the legendary Bharatanatyam artist, Kalanidhi Narayanan. She also trained in Mohiniyattam under Kalyanikutty Amma, Carnatic vocal music with Belakawadi Srinivasa Iyengar and nattuvangam with Kamala Rani of Kalakshetra.

She, alongside her husband, founded Ambalam Foundation

After her marriage to Ramprasadh, the couple founded the art school, Ambalam Foundation, aiming to teach Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music. In 2011, they launched eAmbalam, an online platform offering learning in Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and Indian percussion.

Kadambi has choreographed and presented several solo dance productions, including Vamshi – The Divine Flute, Ashta Nayikarina Ishta Murugan, Koham – The Search, Varsha Rithu, Manomaaneeyam and many more. She is also a recipient of numerous honours, including the title Vidya Tapaswi by Tapas Foundation, Chennai, and Natya Shanthala by Aryabhatta Cultural Association, Bangalore in 1996.
