Ravi Behl is a former Bollywood actor of the 1990s, now best known as one of the star anchors of kids’ dance show on Sony Television – Woogie Boogie. He has been anchoring this dance competition of kids for more than a decade alongside Javed Jaffrey, and the show made him immensely popular and a household name among Indian television viewers. He is the co-producer of the show as well. He was paired with Urmila for the 1991 hit film, Narasimha, and the popular romantic song – Jao Tum Chahe Kahaan (also the chartbuster – Humse Tum Dosti Karlo) was filmed on both. He played supporting roles in many movies of the 1990s. However, Ravi earned fame and immense popularity for the show, Woogie Boogie, and has been an entertainer for many years.

Ravi Behl was born in 1966 in Mumbai. His father, Shyam Behl, is a film producer, and his sister, Gita Behl, has played brief roles on screen. Since young age, he was drawn towards dancing and acting. As a child, he used to perform in front of the mirror. He got his first break in Bollywood through Narasimha, and after the film’s success, he got more offers, but in supporting roles.

The show Woogie Boogie proved to be a turning point in his professional life. He took India’s first and longest dance reality show as a part-time job only. But to his big surprise, his witty dialogues and screen chemistry with his co-anchor clicked, and he became a part of the show forever. He was a part of the show for long 14 years, which was on air till 2014. Except for some years when the show went off the air, he has been a part of it since 1996. He also anchored the musical show Hai Na Bolo Bolo on Star Plus.

1. Though he has been in a serious relationship, they broke up due to personal differences. He is not married yet. There were rumours that he was engaged to actress Ayesha Julka in 1991.

2. He played supporting roles in Bollywood flicks such as Dalaal, Ghulam-E-Musthafa, Pyar Ka Rog and Agnisakhi in the 1990s. Yet his debut role in Narasimha is most popular.

3. He played male lead role in Pyar Ka Rog opposite Sheeba. But the movie was not successful.

4. Narasimha marked his screen debut in 1991. Urmila Matondkar also played her first adult role in this film.

5. He exhibited his talents as a dancer through his debut film, and his inclination towards dance led him to the dance show, Woogie Boogie, later.

6. Ravi has released an album called Ladkiyan, though he is not a trained singer.

7. His sister Gita Behl has played brief roles in Bollywood movies and has been a part of hit films, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Mera Dost Mera Dushman, Do Premee, etc.

8. When his show Woogie Boogie became a big success, he stopped accepting film roles as well as other TV shows.
