
Ingredients for Butter Chicken:
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Oil – As needed
- Onion – 5, chopped fine
- Ginger – 1-inch piece
Garlic – 1 full
Chilli powder – 2 small spoons
Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
Pepper powder – 1 small spoon
Cinnamon – 1-inch piece
Cloves – 3
Cardamom – 1
Cumin seeds – A pinch - Tomato – 5, chopped
Salt – For taste - Butter – 4 big spoons
- Couscous – 3 small spoons
Milk – ¼ cup - Coriander leaves – 1 stem
How to prepare Butter Chicken?
- Clean the chicken and cut it into pieces.
- Heat oil and sauté onions till they turn soft and slightly change colour.
- Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4 and add to the onions.
- Continue sauting till a thin layer of oil appears on the surface and add 2 big spoons of butter.
- Add tomato and salt, and keep sauting till the gravy turns thick.
- Add chicken pieces to it and cook on a low flame.
- If only needed, add a little water.
- Once it is done, add the remaining 2 big spoons of butter.
- Make a paste of couscous, adding milk and add to the chicken.
- Stir the contents well and turn off the flame.
- Decorate with coriander leaves and serve hot.
