Butter Chicken recipe

Ingredients for Butter Chicken:

  1. Chicken – 1 kg
  2. Oil – As needed
  3. Onion – 5, chopped fine
  4. Ginger – 1-inch piece
    Garlic – 1 full
    Chilli powder – 2 small spoons
    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
    Pepper powder – 1 small spoon
    Cinnamon – 1-inch piece
    Cloves – 3
    Cardamom – 1
    Cumin seeds – A pinch
  5. Tomato – 5, chopped
    Salt – For taste
  6. Butter – 4 big spoons
  7. Couscous – 3 small spoons
    Milk – ¼ cup
  8. Coriander leaves – 1 stem

How to prepare Butter Chicken?

  1. Clean the chicken and cut it into pieces.
  2.  Heat oil and sauté onions till they turn soft and slightly change colour.
  3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4 and add to the onions.
  4. Continue sauting till a thin layer of oil appears on the surface and add 2 big spoons of butter.
  5. Add tomato and salt, and keep sauting till the gravy turns thick.
  6. Add chicken pieces to it and cook on a low flame.
  7. If only needed, add a little water.
  8. Once it is done, add the remaining 2 big spoons of butter.
  9. Make a paste of couscous, adding milk and add to the chicken.
  10. Stir the contents well and turn off the flame.
  11. Decorate with coriander leaves and serve hot.
