Almond Halwa (Badam Halwa)

Ingredients for Almond Halwa (Badam Halwa):

1. Almonds – 1 cup

2. Milk – 1 cup

3. Water – 1 cup

    Sugar – 1 cup

    Cardamom powder – 2 pinch

    Saffron – 1 big pinch

4. Ghee – ¾ cup

How to prepare Almond Halwa (Badam Halwa)?

1. Soak almonds for some hours.

2. Peel of the skin and make a fine paste adding milk.

3. If needed, you can add more milk while grinding.

4. Heat ingredients no: 3 in a thick bottomed pan.

5. When sugar melts completely, reduce the heat to medium flame.

6. Add badam-milk paste to it and stir continuously to avoid burning at the bottom.

7. When halwa thickens, add ghee at regular intervals little by little.

8. You can add ghee when halwa sticks on the side of the pan.

9. When halwa starts separating from edges and bubbles start appearing, take off from flame.

10. You can serve almond halwa hot and chilled, as you desire.

Note: You can add yellow food colour if you want.
