Vishnu Vinay is an upcoming actor from Malayalam cinema, and the son of popular film director Vinay. After marking his screen debut with a lesser-known flick, History of Joy in 2017, he shot to fame playing the male lead role of the 2019 horror flick, ‘Aakasha Ganga 2’. The movie was directed by his father, Vinayan, who gave him a perfect launch pad to acting at the age of 32. His second film, “The Gambinos,” released in 2019, went unnoticed, and his third flick, ‘Aakasha Ganga 2’ was his first association with his father, and the movie fared well at the box office.

Vishnu Vinay was born in Kochi in 1987, and currently, he lives in Palarivattom. After his early education in Kochi, he moved to the US for his higher studies. He took a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2010 and also a Master’s in Aeronautics from Purdue University before he returned back. He played the supporting role of a law student in his debut flick, History of Joy (2017), and also The Gambinos (2019). His first two releases went unnoticed. He played lead actress Veena P. Nair’s fiancée in his third film, Aakasha Ganga 2, which gained him recognition.

1. His entry to films was as a co-writer of his father’s Hareendran Oru Nishkalankan in 2007, before he moved to US.
2. He is also interested in music. He is a singer and a trained percussionist too.
3. While he was pursuing studies in US, he wished to return home and get into films. As his father was facing ban from Malayalam industry that time, his father didn’t encourage his idea.
4. After studies he initially wanted to take film direction. He even used to pen stories that time.
