
Ingredients for Olan for Vishu Sadya:
- Red beans (Vanpayar) – ½ cup, soaked
- Long beans cut into ¾ inch pieces – ½ cup
White gourd chopped into ¾ inch square pieces, after removing seeds and skin – ¾ cup
Pumpkin cut into ¾ inch square pieces, after removing seeds and skin – ¾ cup
Green chillies – 2, chopped
Curry leaves – 1 stalk - Coconut milk, second extract – ¾ cup
- Coconut milk, first extract – ½ cup
- Coconut oil – 2 big spoons
- Salt – As required
How to prepare Olan for Vishu Sadya?
- Add salt to the red beans and cook them well.
- Cook ingredients no: 2 in the second extract of coconut oil.
- Add cooked red beans to it and reduce the flame. Close the container with a lid.
- Add ingredients no: 4, 5, and 6 to it one by one, mix well, and take it off the flame.
