Urulakkizhangu Vada recipe

Ingredients for Urulakkizhangu Vada (Potato Vada): 

1. Potato cooked and smashed – ½ kg
    Ginger cut into very fine pieces – 2 small spoons
    Green chillies cut into very fine pieces – 2 big
    Asafoetida powder – ½ small spoon
    Besan (Gram powder) – ½ cup
    Rice powder – 3 big spoons
    Coriander, finely chopped – ¼ cup
    Salt – As per taste
2. Coconut oil – Two small spoons
3. Mustard – 1 small spoon
    Curry leaves – 1 stalk
4. Oil – For frying

How to prepare Urulakkizhangu Vada (Potato Vada)?

1. Mix ingredients no: 1.
2. Heat the coconut oil and add mustard seeds.
3. When mustard seeds splutter, add curry leaves and sauté them.
4. Add these contents to ingredients no: 1 and mix them well.
5. Spread a little oil on your hands and make small balls of this mixture.
6. Also press those balls in the shape of vada and deep fry in hot oil.
7. Serve hot.
