Shreya Ghoshal is the most sought female voice of Bollywood since mid-2000s, and she is mostly associated with soft romantic tracks rather than fast peppy numbers. She has performed extremely well in solo songs, apart from several romantic duets. Over the years, she has sung many popular duets aside established singers like Sonu Nigam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mohit Chauhan, Udit Narayan, Atif Aslam, Shaan, Abhijeet, and latest sensation like Arjit Singh. Among all the singers, her duets with Sonu Nigam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have been noted most. 
 

Started her singing career with a duet with Udit Narayan 

Shreya marked her Bollywood debut with Devdas in 2002. She became the ghost singer of beautiful Aishwarya Rai, and sang all songs pictured on her. It included one popular duet – Bairi Piya aside Udit Narayan, which won her the first National award. Though it was a duet, its male-part was edited off from the movie. 
 
Later she sang one more duet for Ash aside Udit Narayan – Waada Raha for Khakki. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke for Krish featuring Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan was also popular.

Though she has sung less number of duets with Udit Narayan, they got opportunity to sing the controversial but the popular fast track number – Radha of Student of The Year aside its composers Vishal-Shekhar.

Teri Meri Prem Kahani – The most popular duet with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

The top song of the year 2011 was Teri Meri Prem Kahani from the movie, Bodyguard. Only rare occasions have occurred in Bollywood in the recent times, when music fans got such a beautiful and intense romantic song. The song was lovely pictured on Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and the movie was also a blockbuster. Though the song was copied from a baby singer Cleopatra Stratan’s La Betlem Colo n jons, it was made to an Indian desi version by Himesh Reshammiya. Both the singers received a Filmfare nomination for this song.

Another popular duet of Shreya aside this popular Pakistani singer is – Tere Mast Mast Do Nain from Debangg, yet another Salman Khan movie. In fact she has rendered her voice for a popular foot tapping number – Hang Over of Kick, where she got opportunity to sing with Salman Khan. 
 
The popular romantic song pictured on Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif –Teri Ore from Singh is Kinng gave her a Filmfare award, and this song is one among her career best. Though she has sung only less number of songs aside Rahat, those songs became huge hits. In fact most of Bollywood songs sung by Rahet are appreciated by Indians.

Bollywood’s hottest song ever was pictured on Emraan Hashmi and debutant Tanushree Dutta. Its remixed version was sung by composer himself. Himesh Reshammiya also gave her the classic romantic track – Teri Meri of Bodyguard. She sang the duet – Naina Re of Dangerous Ishq aside Himesh, the movie which marked the terrible comeback of Karishma Kapoor.

Saans Mein Teri – The most romantic track aside Mohit Chauhan

She also shares a few noted songs with Mohit Chauhan. Among all, Saans Mein Teri of Jab Tak Hai Jaan featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif is most popular. She also received a Filmfare nomination for this song. Achha Lagta Hai of Aarakshan and Kahin Na Lage Mann of Kismat Connection are other popular duets.

She has sung a few memorable duets with the established singer. She sang the popular item song of Diya Mirza – Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hai for the movie Tumsa Nahin Dekha aside Shaan, and the sad romantic song – Kyon from Kambaqt Ishq which can be listed as an evergreen track. She has also sung the sizzling track of Dhoom, Shikdum and romantic track Dil Leke Darde Dil of Wanted aside Shaan. 

Her popular tracks aside young singers 

Shreya sang two extremely popular duets for A. R. Rahman aside young singer, Benny Dayal – Tu Meri Dost Hain of Yuvraj and sad and emotional track – Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayi of Gajani. A. R. Rahman also rendered his voice for the popular song of Yuvraj.
 
She owns two chartbuster songs aside youth sensation Arjit Singh – Aa Raat Bhar of Hero Panti and Samjhawan of Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania. She sang both these youthful songs for youngsters while she sang the popular duet – Manwa lage of Happy New Year for Shah Rukh Khan – Deepika Padukone pair.

She sang the popular Oh La La from Dirty Picture with the veteran composer of the industry, Bappi Lahiri who sang the popular track of the album after a long break. The song pictured on Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah was an instant hit. She sang the popular duet with the singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan – Tere Naina of Chandini Chawk to China. Though the movie was a huge flop at box office, it’s one of the best songs pictured on Deepika Padukone. Akshay Kumar also featured in this lovely pictured romantic song.

Mere Dholna – One of the best Bollywood songs tuned in classical music 

Preetam composed a wonderful track, Mere Dholna for the movie Bhool Bhulayya, pictured on Vidya Balan, Vineet, Akshay Kumar and Shiney Anuja. When the movie teaser got released, Hare Rama Hare Krishna remix track remained in limelight. The song loosely based on the rare raag Maalgunji caught attention only after release of the movie. Purely based on classic music, the song incorporated Bengali lyrics as well, and Shreya sang this extremely difficult song aside M. G. Sreekumar, well-established playback singer from south.
 

Mere Dolna of Bhool Bhulayya

The movie was in fact a remake of Malayalam cult-classic Manichitratazhu, and the movie was remade to Hindi by Malayalam’s popular film director Priyadarshan. The original song ‘Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya’ contained Tamil lyrics also, and the song featured Shobana, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Shridhar.
