Raw Samosa

Everyone is familiar with deep fried samosas, where the fillings are cooked and enclosed within samosa leaves. Here is a unique raw samosa dish, where cooking is not at all needed. It also makes use of Isabgol – bran of a variety of medicinal rice, which is commonly used in raw foods as a substitute of gelatine. You can buy it online.

Ingredients for Raw Samosa:

1. Zucchini chopped fine – 100 gm

    Carrot chopped fine – 100 gm

    Onion chopped fine – 100 gm

    Walnut – 50 gm

    Garlic chopped fine – 2 small spoons

    Crystal salt powdered – ¾ small spoon

    Garam masala powder – 1 small spoon

2. Coriander leaves chopped – 2 small spoons

To prepare samosa leaf:

3. Tomato – 1 kg

    Carrot – 250 gm

    Ginger and garlic – 30 gm each

    Crystal salt – 2 small spoons

    Lemon juice and chilli powder – 1 small spoon each

    Cumin powder – 2 small spoons

    Isabgol – 2 small spoons

    Cashews powdered – 50 gm

How to prepare Raw Samosa?

1. Smash ingredients no: 1 using a mixer. Never make it a paste.

2. Add chopped cilantro to it and mix the contents to prepare filling.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 3.

4. Place inside a plastic sheet and spread it into thin samosa leaf.

5. Dry it well under direct sun.

6. Place a little filling inside each samosa leaf, and fold into samosa shapes.

7. There is no need to deep fry the samosa, and you can serve it as a raw dish.
