Payal Rajput – Television actress turned film actress of ‘Channa Mereya’ and ‘RX 100’ fame

Payal Rajput is a successful TV actress turned film actress. She was active in Hindi television industry during the period, 2010 – 2016, before she moved to big screen. 2017 Punjabi film Channa Mereya, remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat marked her screen debut, and later she worked in many Telugu films too. Her debut role in RX 100 is her most popular role up-to-date where she played a bold girl with negative shades. She was a part of Bollywood film – Veerey Ki Wedding (2018), and performed an item song, “Bullreddy” for 2019 Telugu movie, Sita. She played the lead role of Siya in TV soap, Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai. She is known to be a fashionable actress in Pollywood.

Payal Rajput hails from Delhi, and was born in 1990. She started her TV journey through Sapnon Se Bhare Naina in 2010. Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani, Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya etc are among her noted performances on television. In 2017 she got the first break to big screen through Channa Mereya. She marked her Telugu debut with RX 100 in 2018 which brought an end to all her struggles in film world, and since then active in Telugu film industry too. Venky Mama was her second Telugu release. Mr & Mrs 420 Returns, Marriage Palace, Ishqaa etc are some of her Punjabi releases. She has bagged a couple of Tamil projects – Angel and Disco Raja, thus marking her debut in Tamil cinema.

1. Her role in Channa Mereya earned her best debutant award at Filmfare awards and PTC Punjabi Film Awards.

2. Her glamorous role in RX 100 bagged her Best Debut Actress award at SIIMA in 2019. Her stint with the movie earned her a ‘sexy’ tag.

3. As she belonged to a non-filmy background she had to overcome so many hurdles to gain recognition in film industry. She once admitted that she even cried several times for lack of offers in hand. She waited for almost 6 years to get right break through RX 100. But the role was enough to make several stereotypes of Telugu film industry.

4. Her mother was uncomfortable while shooting bold scenes for RX 100.
