
Chicken Varattiyath + Savala Varutharacha Kozhi Curry
Ingredients for Onion Fried Chicken Curry (Savala Varutharacha Kozhi Curry):
- Chicken – 1
- Oil – As required
- Onion – 2, sliced thin
- Shallots chopped – ½ cup
Garlic – 4 cloves
Ginger – 1-inch piece
Garam masala powder – 1 small spoon
Chilli powder – 3 small spoons
Coriander powder – 3 small spoons
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Green chillies – 2
Cinnamon – 1 piece
Salt – For taste - Coriander leaves – To decorate
How to prepare Onion Fried Chicken Curry (Savala Varutharacha Kozhi Curry)?
- Clean the chicken and cut it into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions.
- When it turns golden colour, divide it into two equal portions.
- Keep one part aside and grind the second part along with ingredients no: 4.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion gravy.
- When a pleasant aroma comes out, add the remaining portion of fried onion and chicken.
- Also, add sufficient water and cook it well.
- When the contents turn thick, decorate with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
