Ingredients of Nellikka – Thair Paneeyam (Gooseberry – Curd Drink):
- Gooseberry – 3
- Sourless curd – ¼ litre
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
- Cumin powder – 1 tablespoon
Ajwain – 1 tablespoon
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Coriander leaves and curry leaves – ¼ cup, chopped
Ginger – 1 small piece - Green chilli – 1
- Ghee – A little
Red chilli – 1 - Lemon juice – From ½ lemon
Salt – As required
Water – ¼ litre
How to prepare Nellikka – Thair Paneeyam (Gooseberry – Curd Drink)?
- Remove the seeds of the gooseberries and cut them into small pieces.
- Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4.
- Mix the curd into this paste, followed by water.
- Split green chillies and add them.
- Break red chillies into small pieces, fry in ghee and add to it.
- Add lemon juice and salt and mix well.
- Place the juice in the refrigerator.
- You can serve after 2 hours.
Note: You can also serve this drink without adding water. You can prepare 1 bottle of juice using this recipe.
