Gooseberry – Curd Drink recipe

Ingredients of Nellikka – Thair Paneeyam (Gooseberry – Curd Drink):

  1. Gooseberry – 3
  2. Sourless curd – ¼ litre
  3. Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  4. Cumin powder – 1 tablespoon
    Ajwain – 1 tablespoon
    Asafoetida – 1 pinch
    Coriander leaves and curry leaves – ¼ cup, chopped
    Ginger – 1 small piece
  5. Green chilli – 1
  6. Ghee – A little
    Red chilli – 1
  7. Lemon juice – From ½ lemon
    Salt – As required
    Water – ¼ litre

How to prepare Nellikka – Thair Paneeyam (Gooseberry – Curd Drink)?

  1. Remove the seeds of the gooseberries and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 4.
  3.  Mix the curd into this paste, followed by water.
  4. Split green chillies and add them.
  5. Break red chillies into small pieces, fry in ghee and add to it.
  6. Add lemon juice and salt and mix well.
  7. Place the juice in the refrigerator.
  8. You can serve after 2 hours.

Note: You can also serve this drink without adding water. You can prepare 1 bottle of juice using this recipe.
