Idithenga Chemmeen Chutney (Dry Coconut – Prawns Chutney)

Ingredients for Idithenga Chemmeen Chutney (Dry Coconut – Prawns Chutney):

1. Dry prawns (Unakka chemmeen) – A handful

2. Dry coconut scrapped – ¼ portion

3. Shallots – 10 cloves

4. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp

    Salt – For taste

5. Coconut oil – 1 tsp

How to prepare Idithenga Chemmeen Chutney (Dry Coconut – Prawns Chutney)?

1. Heat dry prawns in a pan.

2. Take it from flame and allow it to cool a little bit.

3. Crush prawns using hands.

4. Crush shallots, followed by coconut.

5. Add salt and chilli powder and crush again.

6. Add crushed prawns and coconut oil, and rub together to mix the contents well.

Note: You can also use dry fish of any small type, instead of prawns to prepare this non-vegetarian chutney.
