How to prepare Meen Pollichath (Steamed Fish) in Chinese Style?

1. Draw lines in the cleaned fish. Never cut it into pieces.

2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 2 and marinate the fish.

4. Keep the remaining masala aside.

5. Heat oil in a pan and fry onions until golden brown.

6. Remove onions and add ingredients no: 5 to the same oil.

7. Fry the items and remove from the oil.

8. Add more oil to the frying pan and fry the marinated fish. Only half-cook the fish, and the outer surface should turn crispy.

9. In the remaining oil, add extra oil if needed and sauté the gravy, which you have kept for future use.

10. Add fried onions, a little water, tomato sauce and soya sauce.

11. Add a drop of orange-red colour if needed. You can skip this part too.

12. Boil all the contents well and check the salt. The gravy should not be too thick.

13. Take a pie dish, pour some gravy and place the fish in a single layer.

14. Pour the remaining gravy on its top.

15. Bake fish in a pre-heated oven for 10 minutes.

16. Before you serve, sprinkle fried cashews, garlic and green chillies.
