Kattipettiyappam

Ingredients for Kattipetti Appam:

1. Maida – 150 gm

    Semolina – 150 gm

    Sugar – 100 gm, powdered

    Cardamom powder – 1 small spoon

2. Egg – 1

3. Salt and water – As required

4. Oil – For frying

How to prepare Kattipettiyappam?

1. Mix together ingredients no: 1.

2. Beat an egg and add to above mixture.

3. Add sufficient salt and water and knead the dough till it turns soft.

4. Allow it to rest for half an hour.

5. Spread this dough to ¼ cm thickness and cut into diamond shapes with ½ cm size.

6. Heat oil and deep fry these diamond shapes till they turn golden brown.

Note: Kattipettiyappam is soft soon after it’s fried. But when it cools, it turns stiff and crispy.
