We are all common in one matter. Though we worry a lot about our family members, we often neglect our wounds and diseases. If we get a cut accidentally with a knife, we often complete our treatment using a bandage. But it is to be noted that if our wound is infected by germs, our worries are yet to start. Tetanus is caused by the bacteria Clostridium tetani, which is abundantly found in air and soil. If it happens to enter our wound, it multiplies there, making the condition worse.
How To Resist Tetanus?

How human body get infected by the tetanus bacteria?
Rusted iron instruments are the best sources of such infections. If injection is done using non-sterilized needles or if you happen to get a wound from rusted iron, there is a greater chance of getting tetanus infection. Also, if wounds are kept exposed, not cleaned properly, or if soil, dung, or dirty water comes into contact with them, bacteria can enter the body.
Tetanus Toxoid injection to prevent tetanus from wounds
Take a tetanus booster dose for your kid once he reaches 10 years old. Then, once in every 10 years, the same tetanus booster doze can be repeated. If so you need not take the tetanus injection (TT) after every wound.
Things to note for defending against tetanus infection
1. Keep your wound away from all infections. Clean it well using water and mild soap and maintain hygiene.
2. If the wound is caused by a thorn or a glass piece, ensure that your wound is thoroughly cleaned and no dust or sand particles remain inside. If needed, seek a doctor’s help.
3. If your wound is deep or if caused by a rusted instrument, it’s always better to consult a doctor. If the wound is deep and symptoms of pus are shown, never do self-treatment.
4. If you are a diabetic patient, your wounds need special care.
5. Never keep wounds exposed to soil, sand, or dung.
6. It’s better to take the tetanus-resistant vaccine once every 10 years.
